GlobalProtect VPN

Unless provisioned by a class, student VPN access must be requested: https://support.csuchico.edu/TDClient/1984/Portal/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=41150
Technical Support
The IT Support Client Portal contains the Service Catalog, where you can request services and technical support, and the Knowledge Base, where you can find how-to guides and troubleshooting tips.
IT Support Services (ITSS)
IT Support Services acts as the front lines of the Division of Information Technology. ITSS provides support for most technical issues on campus for staff, faculty, and students; this includes password and account help, software installations and licensing, email support, and more. ITSS offers limited support on personally owned hardware.
You can find the hours and contact information for IT Support Services on the Support Portal homepage or on the ITSS Homepage.
Center for Technology Equity (CTE)
The Center for Technology Equity ensures that every member of the campus community has equitable access to the digital tools and resources necessary for thriving in today's interconnected world. Services include software support, device lending, training, and free or reduced Internet plans.
You can find the hours and contact information for the Center for Technology Equity on the CTE Homepage.
Information Security (ISEC)
Students are often targeted by scams, phishing, computer viruses, and ransomware. You can learn more about this kind of cybersecurity by visiting our page here: https://www.csuchico.edu/isec/resources/avoid-threats/spam-phishing.shtml
A common theme of phishing attacks is offers that seem too good to be true. This can include job offers, financial aid awards, giveaways you didn't enter, and more. Another common phishing attack is alleged account issues, in which the attacker asks for you to submit or confirm your username and password.
Here are some best practices for keeping your Chico State account secure:
- Never approve any Duo Prompts that you did not initiate. Don't share Duo SMS codes with anyone. If you are receiving prompts you did not request, you may want to change your Chico State password
- Report all suspicious emails by using the KnowBe4 “Report Phishing” button.
- Always check email addresses and email signatures. A common tactic for phishing emails is changing the name in an email signature, but not changing the name in the email address.
- Never share passwords, ID numbers, phone numbers, addresses, or other Duo information. Chico State will never request this information via email.
Accounts & Security
Most campus systems are accessed using your Chico State Account. You can manage your Chico State account via Account Center.
If you forget your password or if it expires, you can reset your Chico State password by following the guide here: https://support.csuchico.edu/TDClient/1984/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=30361
Chico State Portal
The Chico State Portal provides a central location for many of the resources that staff and faculty need. These include Microsoft Office 365 (your Chico State email), Account Center, LinkedIn Learning, PeopleSoft, CSU Learn, Chico State Alerts, Canvas, and more.
Microsoft 365 / Office 365
Students receive a Microsoft A3 license. This A3 license includes access to your Exchange Email and access to both online and desktop Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
It is recommended that the Outlook Mobile App is used for accessing email on a phone or other mobile devices:
