Help Installing, Configuring, and Accessing Software

IT Support Services assists the campus community with supported desktop applications on PC and Mac computers. This includes commonly used software such as:

  • Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Adobe Creative Cloud
  • TechSmith Snagit or Camtasia
  • Other Chico State-supported applications

For a list of supported software, see our article on Campus Software Licensing & Purchasing Agreements.

Adobe License Requests: Active students, staff, and faculty do not need to submit a request to access Adobe applications. Follow the instructions for Accessing and Installing Adobe Creative Cloud.

Class-related software requests: Faculty requesting software such as Microsoft Project or Mendeley Cite for a specific course should include the course name and section (for example, CAGD-110-01 or CSCI-431-02) in the request description.

For campus-managed computers, many applications can be installed without submitting a request using Software Center, Company Portal, or Self Service. If you submit a request for a campus-managed computer, include the following:

  • The asset tag number (found on a barcode sticker on the device, e.g., S12345)
  • A brief description of the software needed and links to the software if necessary
