OneDrive

The OneDrive section within Microsoft Teams enables you to access, manage, and collaborate on your OneDrive files directly from the Teams interface. Key features include:​

  • Add New: Create new files or folders.​

  • For You: Personalized content suggestions.​

  • Recent: A list of recently accessed documents.​

  • Filter: A search bar to refine file search results by name or person.​

Accessing OneDrive

To access your OneDrive files within Teams:​

  1. Click on the OneDrive icon in the left-hand navigation menu.​

  2. Browse through your files, which display details such as name, type, date modified, and location.​

  3. Sort files by name, date, or size as needed.​

Uploading Files

To upload files to OneDrive via Teams:​

  1. Navigate to the desired folder within the OneDrive tab.​

  2. Click the Upload button.​

  3. Choose to upload individual files or entire folders.​

  4. Select the files or folders from your device.​

  5. Monitor the upload progress; once complete, the items will appear in your OneDrive directory.​

Sharing Files

To share files stored in OneDrive:​

  1. Locate the file you wish to share in the OneDrive tab.​

  2. Click the Share option.​

  3. Enter the names or email addresses of the recipients.​

  4. Set the appropriate permissions (e.g., view or edit).​

  5. Add an optional message.​

  6. Click Send to share the file, or copy the link to share through other channels.​

Collaborating on Documents

To collaborate on documents:​

  1. Open the document within Teams by clicking on its name.​

  2. Edit the document directly in Teams using the integrated Office editor.​

  3. Invite others to collaborate by clicking the Share button within the document.​

  4. Monitor real-time edits and use the chat feature for communication.​

  5. Changes are automatically saved in OneDrive.​

Searching for Files

To search for specific files:​

  1. Navigate to the OneDrive tab.​

  2. Use the Filter by name or person search bar at the top.​

  3. Enter keywords related to the file.​

  4. Browse the search results to locate your file.​
