Confirm Updated Name is in Account Center

Your legal or preferred name must be updated in Account Center before submitting this request.

  • Faculty and staff must work with their Human Resources office
  • Current students must contact Student Records & Registration to complete the required forms

Request a Username Change

After your name has been updated in Account Center, submit this service to request a username change that reflects your updated legal name.

Your username is the first part of your Chico State email address (for example, everything before @csuchico.edu). It is automatically generated based on your name and cannot be chosen or customized. Learn more about Username Generation in our Knowledge Base. 

Update Your Display Name

If you only need to change how your name appears in systems, you can update your display name instead.

You can follow the instructions to Update Your Display Name in Account Center.
