Username Generation in Account Center

Username Generation

Usernames are automatically generated by Account Center based on the preferred or legal name recorded in PeopleSoft. They are created using the first letter of the first name, the middle initial (if applicable), and the full last name. If the generated username is not unique, a numeric value is added.

Since this process is automated, campus users cannot request custom usernames.

Username Changes

IT Support Services will verify whether your updated name is reflected in Account Center and initiate the username change.

To request a username change:

1. Ensure your preferred or legal name is updated in PeopleSoft.
   • Current or former students: Contact Student Records & Registration.
   • Employees: Contact Human Resources.
2. Submit a Username Change Request to IT Support Services.
