This guide provides instructions on how to import these templates from Canvas Commons into your course.

Prerequisites

  • Access to a Canvas course as an instructor
  • Internet connection

Step-by-Step Instructions

Import the Page Layout Templates Module from Canvas Commons

  1. Log in to Canvas.
  2. From the Global Navigation Sidebar, select Commons.
  3. Open the TLP Page Layout Templates Module in Canvas Commons. Alternatively, search for "Chico State" in Commons to find all Chico State TLP resources.
    • Note: You can preview the content before selecting the course(s) to import it into. However, the format may appear slightly different in the preview than in the actual Canvas page.

Searching Commons

For additional resources, search "Chico State" or "TLP" in Canvas Commons. You can further refine your search by selecting "California State University, Chico" under the Shared With category in the filter options.

Troubleshooting

  • Editing Tab or Accordion Titles: If you need to change the title of a tab or accordion, start editing after the first letter to avoid breaking functionality. For example, to rename "Learning Resources" to "Graded Activities," type the new name after the first character, then remove the first character.
  • Preview vs. Actual Format: If the template's format in the preview looks different from what you expected, proceed with importing it to your course to see the actual layout and functionality.
