Introduction
Peer Reviews in Canvas are activities where you give feedback on another student’s assignment submission or discussion reply. Peer reviews are meant to help you practice evaluating work, learn from peers, and improve your own understanding through critique and reflection. Depending on your instructor’s settings, peer reviews may show names or be anonymous. This guide explains how to complete a peer review and where to find feedback your peers left for you.
Prerequisites
- Your instructor has assigned peer reviews in your course.
- You have submitted your assignment or posted your discussion reply (required before you can access peer reviews).
Step-by-Step Instructions
Complete peer reviews and view feedback
To complete your peer review and view peer feedback, do the following:
- Submit your assignment or reply to the discussion (if you haven’t already).
- Open the assignment or discussion where peer reviews were assigned.
- Follow Instructure’s instructions in Submit a peer review to an assignment in Canvas: https://community.instructure.com/en/kb/articles/661217-how-do-i-submit-a-peer-review-to-an-assignment.
- To read feedback peers left on your submission, follow Instructure’s instructions in Find peers’ feedback for peer reviewed assignments in Canvas: https://community.instructure.com/en/kb/articles/661218-unknown.
