Why Students Are Not Receiving Extended Quiz Time
Students who have approved testing accommodations, such as time-and-a-half or double time, may notice that a Canvas quiz displays the standard time limit instead of their extended time.
This issue can occur when a quiz is created after accommodations have already been assigned to a student in Accommodate HQ.

- Canvas Learning Management System
- Courses using Accommodate HQ
- Students with quiz time accommodations
Re-Apply Accommodations to All Quizzes
To update accommodations for all quizzes in a course:
- In Canvas course navigation, select Accommodate HQ.
- Select Global - By Student.
- Select Update All.
- Wait for the confirmation message indicating the update completed successfully.
After the update completes, students should receive the correct accommodated time on all applicable quizzes.
Why This Happens
Accommodations are not automatically applied to quizzes that are created after a student's accommodations have already been established.
Selecting Update All forces Accommodate HQ to re-evaluate course quizzes and apply the appropriate accommodations to eligible students.
