Step-by-Step Instructions

Downloading Kaltura Capture

Before you can record a video, you need to ensure Kaltura Capture is installed on your device. Follow the instructions based on your computer type:

Personal Computers:

  1. Navigate to your My Media.
  2. Select Add New, then choose Kaltura Capture.
  3. Choose Download for Windows or Download for Mac depending on your operating system.

Campus-managed PCs and Macs:

  • Download Kaltura Capture from the Software Center provided by ITSS.

Recording a Video with Kaltura Capture

After downloading Kaltura Capture, you can use it to record a video. To record a Kaltura video using Kaltura Capture, do the following:

  1. Open the Kaltura Capture application on your computer.
  2. Configure your recording settings:
    • To record your screen, select the Screen [1] icon and choose which screen to capture [2] if you have multiple displays.
    • To record video via your webcam, click the Camera [3] icon and ensure your webcam is selected and functioning.
    • To record audio, click the Microphone [4] icon and select your audio source.
  3. Press the Red Record Button [5] to start recording. There will be a short countdown before recording begins.

  4. Perform your presentation or lecture. You can pause and resume the recording by clicking the Pause/Resume [1] button, mute your microphone by selecting the Microphone icon [2], or add screen annotations by selecting the Pencil icon [3].
