There are several media repositories that store videos and provide shareable links. This article specifically reviews the process of adding a video via CSU Chico Media/ Kaltura, the university’s media repository.
Requirements
The video must be captioned before publishing to the web.
Submit a Captioning Support Service ticket to edit and correct your captions. The video will be captioned by the TEIN department.
Gathering your Video Embed Code
- Upload your video to Kaltura and submit a captioning ticket. It is recommended not to continue this process until your video is captioned.
- Access your Kaltura account and open the captioned video.
- Open the Share tab underneath the transcript. Select the embed option and copy the code.
Can't find the embed option? Make sure you're logged in to Kaltura.
- Edit your embed code to remove the id tag, frameborder and add the title of the video.
Recommendation: Copy and edit the embed code into a Notepad file or word editor for easier access.
- Wrap your embed code with a responsive class. The embed code is ready to be added to the webpage.
Placing Your Video on a Webpage Within Cascade 3.0
- Complete the Gathering Your Video Embed Code section
- Locate the webpage where the embed code will be placed.
- Open the edit window, find a suitable location for your video and select the video icon. A pop-up window will appear.
- Select the embed tab and past your embed code in the text box.

- Complete the Gathering Your Video Embed Code section
- Locate the webpage where the embed code will be placed.
- Add a Video Embed component.
- Enter the video title and your embed code in the appropriate text boxes.
