About Licensed Software
Some software applications in the Chico State Software Center are not covered under any campus software licensing agreement and require a purchased license. Common examples include Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project. These applications require proof of license purchase and, therefore, cannot be installed directly from Software Center.
You can request the software, and IT Support Services (ITSS) will contact you to verify your license information. Once confirmed, your request will be approved, and the software will be available for installation.
Request Software
- Open Software Center on your campus-managed Windows computer.
- Search for or manually find the program you want in the list.

- Click Request to begin your software request.
- In the comment box, include your ticket number if you have one. If not, click Request, and the system will create one for you.
- Click Request again to submit the form.

After submission, you will see a confirmation message. IT Support Services will review your request and contact you if additional information is needed.
Installing the Software
Once your software request has been approved, you will be notified that it is available for installation.
- Open Software Center.
- Go to the Installation tab to view installation progress.
Once installation is complete, your licensed software will be ready to use.
