Check In for Attendance in Poll Everywhere

This guide explains how to check in for attendance, enable location services, and troubleshoot common issues. This article assumes your instructor requires in-person check-in for attendance in order to participate in a poll. 

Prerequisites

  • This article assumes your instructor requires in-person check-in for attendance in order to participate in a poll. 
  • Access to the instructor’s Pollev.com/username response page logged in to your co State account
  • Location services enabled on your device and web browser.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Allow Location for Check-In

To ensure a successful check-in, enable location services on your web browser and device:

  1. Open your web browser or phone settings.
  2. Find the Location Services option.
  3. Set location access to On or Allow for Poll Everywhere.
  4. Refresh the page and attempt to check in again.

Check In for Attendance

To check in for attendance before responding, follow these steps:

  1. Go to PollEv.com and sign in with your Poll Everywhere account.
  2. Access your instructor’s response page:
    • Enter the instructor’s username in the Home page search bar.
    • Or, paste the instructor’s Pollev.com/username URL into your browser’s address bar.
  3. Once you join your instructor’s session, you will be prompted to check in.
  4. Select Check In to confirm your attendance.
  5. Note: If you click the “Continue without check-in” button, you will be displayed the “We were unable to check you in” message shown below, and you will need to retry once in the designated location.

  6. If your location matches the designated area set by your instructor, you will see a confirmation message:
    "You are currently checked in to this presentation."
  7. You can now submit responses for attendance tracking.

Troubleshooting

  • Error: "We were unable to check you in"

    • Ensure you are within the designated location set by your instructor.
    • Retry check-in once you are in the correct area.
  • Check-in prompt not appearing

    • Confirm that your instructor has enabled Attendance Management.
    • Refresh your browser and rejoin the response page.
  • Location check-in not working

    • Verify that location services are enabled on your device and browser.
    • Restart your browser or try a different one.
