The Attendance Management feature in Poll Everywhere helps educators streamline attendance tracking, improve student accountability, and enhance learning outcomes. By enabling geolocation-based check-ins, instructors can ensure that students are present before participating in activities.
This guide explains how to set up and use the Attendance Management feature to collect student attendance.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
- A Poll Everywhere account with presenter access.
- An active internet connection for both instructors and students.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Set Up Attendance Management
To set up Attendance Management in Poll Everywhere, follow these steps:
- Log into your Poll Everywhere account at www.polleverywhere.com.
- Access the Attendance Management page using one of these methods:
- Select the Profile icon from the navigation bar, then choose Attendance.
- On the My Activities page, select Settings within the Attendance Management card.
- Under Geolocation, toggle Allow the location of your activities to be restricted to the areas you select.
- Add the desired locations where students are allowed to check in before joining the session.
- You can add or edit up to 10 locations.
- Locations can be deleted when no longer needed.

- You are now ready to present with Attendance Management enabled. When students join your session (e.g., pollev.com/username), they will be required to check in.
Collect Attendance
Once geolocation is enabled and locations are set, follow these steps to collect attendance:
- Activate and present your Poll Everywhere activity.
- Students who join via your Pollev.com/username response page will be prompted to check in with their current location.
- When students respond to an activity, their attendance will be recorded in Poll Everywhere.

Troubleshooting

- If students cannot check in, verify that their location services are enabled on their device.
- Ensure that the selected geolocation settings match the allowed areas.
- If attendance is not being recorded, confirm that the activity is active and presented correctly.
