Overview of Course Management

Course Management enhances our Canvas integration, allowing instructors to create an "assignment" and associate that assignment with one or more poll activities. You can specify assignment scores based on participation and/or correctness of poll activities.

Additionally, you can require participants to be "checked-in" as a requirement for in-person attendance to access the poll activity.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Before you begin, ensure you have a Canvas course linked to Poll Everywhere. This is required to access the Course Management icon.

  1. Log in to your Poll Everywhere account at polleverywhere.com.
  2. Locate and select the Course Management icon. You can do this in two ways:
    • Select Course Management from the left navigation bar, or
    • Select Participants from the navigation bar, then choose Courses.
  3. Locate the respective course and select Enable Roster Sync.

Troubleshooting

  • If your course is not yet connected, the Course Management icon will appear once the LMS integration is complete.
  • If courses are not syncing to Canvas, check whether the scoring model (points-based or percentage-based) is correctly configured in Poll Everywhere.
