How do I access inbox messages from concluded courses in Canvas?

This guide will show you how to access inbox messages from your concluded courses in Canvas. This can be useful for referencing past communication with instructors or classmates from courses you have completed.

Prerequisites

  • You must be enrolled in at least one course that has been concluded

Step-by-Step Instructions

To access inbox messages from your concluded courses, do the following:

  1. From the global navigation, select Inbox [1].
  2. From the top bar in your inbox, select the All Courses dropdown [2].
  3. Scroll down to the Concluded Courses section and select the course you're looking for [3].

  4. All messages from that class should appear in the list.

Now you should be able to see all the messages from your concluded course.

Troubleshooting

  • If you do not see your concluded course in the dropdown, check under More Courses. If the course still doesn't appear, reach out to Learning Technology Services
  • If messages are missing, check if they were archived by selecting the Inbox dropdown and picking Archived.
