Several people have reported that courses from previous terms are no longer visible in the Pronto application. This issue is specifically affecting courses that were active in the past but are not part of the current term and courses that are not published. Users affected by this issue may find that while published courses from the current term are accessible, those from the previous terms have unexpectedly disappeared from their Pronto interface or never appeared in the first place.

Background

Your courses appear in Pronto based on their current status in Canvas. For a course to appear in Pronto:

  1. The course must be published.
  2. The course should not be concluded or in a previous term.
  3. There must be at least one student enrolled in at least one section of the course.

Solution

If you still have access to your course in Canvas, but the course is missing in Pronto, follow these steps:

  1. Verify if the course is active in Canvas. If the course is is unpublished, concluded, or outside the active term range, Pronto will not display it.
  2. If you need to access a course that is not currently active, you may consider adjusting the course settings in Canvas. For instance, you can change the start or end date in Canvas to extend its visibility.
  3. Ensure that all other requirements for Pronto are met, such as the course having enrolled students.

Root Cause

The primary reason for courses not showing up in Pronto is that they are marked as concluded or outside the active term in the learning management system. This usually happens when the current date is beyond the course's designated term or if the course has yet to be published. Once a course is marked as concluded or inactive, it will no longer appear in Pronto.
