Remote Labs

In order to facilitate remote learning, we have created two solutions for computer labs. We are using a cloud desktop through Microsoft Azure called Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) to handle most of our standard lab work (free or site licensed applications), and one for more specialized software (software with special configurations, or a limited number of licenses).

Wildcat Lab (Windows Virtual Desktop)

Wildcat Lab runs on the Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) platform and provides a cloud based desktop experience. This can be accessed either through a web browser or from a client installed on your machine. Most standard campus apps are installed on this, and can be accessed anywhere without VPN access.

More information can be found here.

ITSS-Labmap provides a way for students and faculty to connect to computers on campus that have more specialized Windows software that we could not install on our WVD computers. This will allow you to pick a physical lab and lab computer, download a Remote Desktop file, and connect directly to a machine on campus. This solution requires that you be successfully connected to the campus VPN (Global Protect)
