What is LastPass?
LastPass is a secure password manager that remembers your online account passwords so you don’t have to. Save a site to LastPass with just a few clicks and LastPass will automatically fill in the credentials for you the next time you login to that site. LastPass Enterprise accounts are only available to current Chico State faculty and staff, CSE employees, and AS Employees.
Students are not eligible for an enterprise account. Students should visit this page to learn about a free personal LastPass Premium account.
Why Should I Sign Up for LastPass?
There are many reasons why you should consider signing up for a LastPass Enterprise account.
- Convenient. LastPass enterprise accounts will use single sign-on. LastPass stores all your other account passwords for you.
- Secure. LastPass encrypts all your passwords. LastPass never has the key to your encrypted data, so your information is available to you, and only you.
- Device and Platform Independent. You can use your account passwords on any platform or device - Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and on the Web (LastPass Website).
- Changes Synced. Any changes you make to account passwords are synced to each device and platform on which you have LastPass installed. So if you change an account password on your desktop computer, LastPass will sync your change on your phone.
- Widely Used. LastPass is used by many organizations, including higher education institutions, corporations, and non-profits, as well as by millions of individuals.
- Enterprise and Personal Accounts can be linked. You can have more than one LastPass account and link them. We strongly recommend that you store work passwords in your @csuchico.edu account and store personal passwords in your personal account (with a different email account). Link the 2 accounts for ease of use; then when you leave the university your work account is removed and you still have all your personal passwords in your personal LastPass.
