What is the Wildcat Lab?

Wildcat Lab is a cloud service that replaces most of our on-campus lab machines, offering access to the majority of programs found in our physical labs. The most reliable way to access Wildcat Lab is through Microsoft's free Windows App, but you can also use a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) if the app cannot be installed.

Connecting to the Lab

Access via the Windows App

  1. Install the Windows App for your device:
    • For personal devices, install the app from the device's App Store, or via the link on Microsoft's Website.
    • For campus-managed Macs, the Windows App is automatically installed. 
    • For campus-managed PCs, you can install the Windows App via Software Center.
  2. Once installed, open the app and sign in with your @csuchico.edu account and Chico State password.
  3. Once logged in, you should see a list of computers that you can access. Click on one, and it will bring up a new sign-in window.
  4. On the login screen, sign in with your username and Chico State password.

Access via a Web Browser

  1. Open a web browser; Chrome, Firefox, or Edge are recommended.
  2. Navigate to the Windows App Login page: https://windows.cloud.microsoft/ .
  3. The next screen should prompt you to sign in. Please use your @csuchico.edu account and Chico State password.
  4. Click Connect on the Wildcat Lab option in the Devices menu.
  5. When the "In Session Settings" screen appears, make sure to allow access to the features listed, and click Connect.
  6. On the next login screen, sign in with your @csuchico.edu account and Chico State password.
  7. You should connect to the lab after a few moments.

Saving Data in the Wildcat Lab

Since you may not always receive the same virtual desktop, it’s strongly recommended to save your assignments and other data to cloud storage, such as OneDrive or Google Drive. 

By default, your Desktop, Documents, and Pictures folders will be synced to OneDrive using your username@csuchico.edu account. This information can be accessed from any location by installing OneDrive on your computer or using the OneDrive Web Login.

Failure to backup your files could result in data loss, as the devices are wiped when you log out. IT Support Services is not responsible for any data loss.
