When launching a training module in CSU Learn, two pop-up windows are used: the main training window and a secondary tracking window. If pop-ups are blocked or the tracking window is closed prematurely, training progress may be lost, and course completion may not be recorded.
Environment
This article is relevant to you if:
- You are using CSU Learn to complete a required training.
- Your training does not launch properly, or your progress/completion is not recorded.
- You have a pop-up blocker enabled or accidentally closed the tracking window.
Solution
To successfully complete your CSU Learn training, follow these steps:
- Disable pop-up blockers in your web browser before launching the training.
- When you start a training, two windows will open:
- The main training window, where you complete the training.
- The tracking window, which records your progress.
- Do not close the tracking window while training is in progress. You may minimize it, but closing it before completion may result in lost progress.

- Once you finish the training, the tracking window will close automatically, and your completion status will be recorded.
Now, your training should be successfully recorded in CSU Learn.
Root Cause
When CSU Learn training launches, it relies on a secondary tracking window to monitor progress. If pop-up blockers prevent this window from opening, or if it is manually closed before completion, the system may not register course progress or completion.
