Campus Cart Ride Service
The Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) provides on-campus cart rides for students, staff, and faculty who have a documented disability or temporary injury that makes it difficult for them to navigate on their own. Registration and prior approval with ARC is required.
If you are a student already registered with ARC and cart rides are an approved service, please submit your online ride request(s) at least 24 hours in advance of your needed ride(s).
If you are a student and not already registered with ARC, you must register with ARC before submitting a ride request ticket. Navigate to the ARC website and click on the “Apply Here!” button to submit an application and upload documentation that verifies your disability or injury. Please be aware that your ride request ticket will not be approved until the application and appropriate documentation are received. The following issues can cause delays in approving your application:
- No documentation submitted. You will be prompted to upload documentation at the end of the application or you can fax documentation to 530-898-4411, email documentation to arcdept@csuchico.edu, or hand deliver documentation to ARC in Student Services Center, room 170.
- Insufficient documentation provided. Documentation must be signed by a medical provider, must include your name, diagnosis or injury, and must include a date range services are needed if temporary.
If you are staff or faculty and have not submitted Reasonable Accommodation (RA) documentation, please email arcdept@csuchico.edu to ask that the RA Request form be sent to you. Once the completed form (and any other requested documentation) has been received and cart rides approved, you will then be able to submit your online ride requests.
Cart ride schedule:
Fall and Spring Semesters: Monday through Friday – 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. (no rides available during winter break).
Thanksgiving break, Intersession, spring break, and the period after commencement until summer hours begin: Monday through Friday – 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Summer Hours: Monday through Thursday – 7:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Please note: The online ride request system is deactivated during finals weeks (fall and spring semesters). Requests for rides during this time must be called in to the ARC office (530-898-5959) at least 24 hours prior to the ride.
