The CSU campus training portal provides access to required and optional training for faculty, staff, and students. This guide will help you navigate the platform, search for training, complete assigned courses, and verify your training records. Understanding how to use the portal effectively ensures compliance with campus training requirements and enhances your learning experience.
Prerequisites
- Access to the CSU Learn training portal
- An up-to-date web browser (Chrome or Firefox recommended)
Step-by-Step Instructions
Navigate in CSU Learn
- The home dashboard is the main landing page of the training portal.
- You can return to the dashboard at any time by selecting your campus logo (top left) or the Home button in the left-side navigation panel.
- The Self Menu provides quick access to:
- Your training transcript
- Training notifications
- CSU Learn’s accessibility statement
- The My Team Menu is available for supervisors and includes a Manager Dashboard to track training progress for direct reports.
- A search feature is available in the top-right toolbar.
- By default, searches include all training activities.
- To search for books or videos, change the search category from Learning to Books and Videos.
- Select Start to begin a training activity, the heart icon to favorite it, or the share icon to send it to colleagues.
- Use the Library tab in the left-hand navigation panel to browse training topics, including CSU-curated training bundles.
Get Help in CSU Learn
Select the question mark icon in the toolbar to access a campus-specific help page, which includes:
- Contact information for campus support
- Accessibility resources
- Troubleshooting steps
View Assigned Learning and Training Records
At the bottom of the homepage, you will find quick access to:
- Assigned Learning – lists required training based on your campus role.
- Recently Viewed – shows the last few training activities you accessed.
- Favorited Activities – provides quick access to saved training content.
- Transcript – contains your training records and allows you to print certificates.
- Training Schedule – displays upcoming campus and system-wide training opportunities.
Completing Assigned Training
- You will receive an email notification when assigned a training course.
- Select the link in the email to go directly to the training activity.
- Register for the course if required.
- Select Start to begin the training in a new window.
- Keep all windows open until the training is fully completed.
- Complete all required course sections and any quizzes with a passing score.
- Select Exit Course to properly log your completion.
Verifying Completion of Training
- Return to the Home Dashboard by selecting your campus logo.
- Select the Training Transcript tile.
- Change the date filter to All to view your full training history.
- Locate the training activity and check the Completion Status and Date.
- Select the certificate icon next to the course to download your Certificate of Completion.
- If completion is not recorded:
- Relaunch the course and verify that all required sections are finished.
Troubleshooting
- If training does not launch, ensure that:
- Pop-ups are enabled in your browser.
- You are using a supported browser (Chrome or Firefox recommended).
- If your completion status is not updated:
- Verify that you completed all sections and kept all training windows open.
- Check your Training Transcript for confirmation.
- For additional help, visit the CSU help page via the question mark icon in the toolbar.
