Who Can Check Out a Laptop
Faculty, staff, and student employees may request a short term loaner laptop for work-related purposes only.
Loan Duration
Loaner laptops are available for short-term use only. Typical loan periods include:
- While your assigned computer is being repaired
- While awaiting delivery of an ordered computer
- For events or travel lasting less than one month
Long-term or indefinite use is not supported. Laptops must be returned as soon as the temporary need has ended. If a computer is needed on a regular basis, it is recommended to purchase a computer instead. To purchase a computer, please see our Purchase Computer Equipment Knowledge Base article.
Shipping Details
If a laptop needs to be shipped to you, please provide the following information when submitting your request:
- Full Name
- Shipping Address
- Phone Number
- Department Chartfield String to charge for shipping costs
If a loaner laptop is shipped to you, be sure to keep the box and packaging it arrived with to facilitate returning the laptop.
