Create a Kaltura Playlist and Add Videos
Creating a playlist in Kaltura allows you to organize related videos into a single collection that you can share or embed. Playlists can include videos you own or videos that have been shared with you.
Create a Playlist
- Go to Kaltura MediaSpace and sign in.
- Open My Playlists.
- Select Create Playlist.
- Enter a name and description.
- Select Save.
Add Videos to the Playlist
- To include videos you do not own, switch from My Media to All Shared Content.
- Use Search to find videos.
- Select the + button next to each video to add it.
- Review the selected items.
- Select Save.
Your playlist is now ready to share or embed.
Share or Embed a Kaltura Playlist
After creating your playlist, you can either share a direct watch link or embed it into Canvas or a website.
Share a Watch Link
- Open My Playlists.
- Select your playlist.
- Select Share.
- Under Watch Link, choose Copy Link or Email Link.
Embed the Playlist
- Open My Playlists.
- Select your playlist.
- Select Share.
- In Embed Settings, choose Choose Player (for example, Vertical Player).
- Set Max Embed Size as needed.
- Choose Embed Type (iFrame).
- Select Copy Embed to copy the generated
<iframe> code.
To embed in Canvas:
- Open the Canvas page.
- Select the HTML Editor.
- Paste the iframe code.
- Select Save.
Troubleshoot Playlist and Embed Issues
You Cannot Find a Video to Add
- Confirm the video title and search terms are correct.
- Verify you are an owner, group owner, co-editor, co-publisher, or co-viewer.
Viewers See “Access Denied” or Videos Will Not Play
- Each video in the playlist must be viewable by your audience.
- Set items to Unlisted or publish them to the correct course or channel.
- Private videos will not play for others.
The Playlist Rail Does Not Appear in the Embed
- Reopen Share then Embed Settings.
- Select a playlist-compatible option under Choose Player (for example, Vertical Player).
- Select Copy Embed again and replace the existing code.
The Embedded Playlist Is Too Large or Too Small
- Adjust Max Embed Size in Embed Settings.
- Select Copy Embed again and replace the existing iframe.
Canvas Removes or Alters the Embed Code
- Switch to the HTML Editor before pasting the iframe code.
- Select Save.
