What is Remote ID Verification?

Remote ID Verification at Chico State is a security measure to confirm the identities of students, staff, and faculty when changes to their accounts are needed. Information Security and IT Support Services conduct this verification by checking a user’s government ID over a Zoom call, protecting accounts from unauthorized access and potential cyber threats.

What You Will Need?

Before starting your Remote ID Verification call with IT Support Services, please ensure you have the following ready:

  • A valid, non-expired government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or Passport)
  • A smartphone or computer with a working camera
  • Access to your personal email (not Chico State)
  • Zoom installed and updated
  • A well-lit space for clear visibility
