Poll Everywhere allows for real-time feedback and interaction during lectures and presentations. This guide does not cover creating polls in Poll Everywhere.

Prerequisites

  • You must be a faculty member with editing rights in a current Canvas course.
  • An active Poll Everywhere presenter account is required.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Enabling Poll Everywhere in Canvas

  1. Navigate to Settings in your Canvas course sidebar.
  2. Select the Navigation tab.
  3. Find Poll Everywhere in the list of disabled items and select Enable in the three-dots menu.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Save to apply changes.

Launching Poll Everywhere

  1. In the Course Navigation menu, select Poll Everywhere.
  2. Select Continue to canvas.csuchico.edu. This action will open a new tab redirecting you to the Poll Everywhere page for your course.
  3. In the new tab, you may need to authorize Poll Everywhere to connect to your Canvas course. Click to acknowledge the launch.
  4. On the following page, select Sync roster to import your course's students into Poll Everywhere.

Verifying the Roster Import

  1. After initiating the roster sync, a confirmation page will display. Select Go to Participants page.
  2. On the Participants page, confirm the import by looking for a new group named after your course.

Troubleshooting

  • Navigation Tab Does Not Show Poll Everywhere: Ensure you have scrolled through the entire list of disabled items in the Navigation tab. If Poll Everywhere is still missing, contact Canvas Support for assistance.
  • Issues with Roster Syncing: If the roster does not appear to import correctly, double-check that you have clicked the Sync roster button and waited for the process to complete. For persistent issues, Poll Everywhere support can provide direct assistance.
