From time to time, students (or applicants!) are receiving an email from PeopleSoft Message Center which indicates that the user has a new Message Center message. The email includes a link to log into the Message Center to read the message. For most users, the link will work. For some users, the link goes to an error message indicating that they are "unauthorized to access this page".
If you receive one of these emails, please note it was sent in error and it can be safely disregarded.
The messages are coming from a new communication plugin which sends messages based on database queries. The University has experienced some growing pains with this tool, and from time to time, messages are sent to users who do not yet have the ability to check Message Center at all. We are working on improving this, but this article is needed in the meantime until that issue is completely resolved.
