Our Eduroam wireless authentication was changed on 8/3/2021. Any wireless connection profiles saved to your device before 8/3 will need to be removed and set up again to function correctly. For instructions on how to remove a previously configured Eduroam connection, please click the "Remove Eduroam" link above.


This article will cover the Eduroam setup for devices powered by Microsoft's Windows 10. This includes a myriad of different manufacturers laptops, desktops and tablets. Depending on your hardware and the version of Windows 10 you are using your setup process may look slightly different. We recommend installing all available system updates before you continue.

This process should be the same for all University owned and personally owned Windows 10 powered devices.
 

 

How To Remove Eduroam


Our Eduroam wireless authentication was changed on 8/3/2021. Any wireless connection profiles saved to your device before 8/3 will need to be removed and set up again to function correctly. Please follow the instructions below to remove the previous "eduroam" wireless profile before you continue. If you are setting up for the first time, you can CLICK HERE to skip to the Setup Eduroam instructions.


1. Find the Network Connections icon in the system tray on your desktop. This is generally located in the lower right corner of the screen, next to the clock. Click the small globe icon to see the available wireless networks. Click this icon to show current & available connections, then click "Network & Internet settings"

 

2. In the new Settings window, select "Wi-Fi" on the left, then "Manage known networks" on the right

 

3. Under the "Manage known networks" list, select "eduroam" and then click the "Forget" button



4. You should now be disconnected from the Eduroam network

 

 

How To Setup Eduroam:

Please follow the instructions above to remove the previous "eduroam" wireless profile. If you are setting up "eduroam" for the first time on your device you may disregard this note. 

1. Find the Network Connections icon in the system tray on your desktop. This is generally located in the lower right corner of the screen, next to the clock. Click the small globe icon to see the available wireless networks. Click "eduroam" and then click the "Connect" button. Be sure to also check the box for "Connect automatically"

 

2. You will be prompted to enter your user name and password.

User name: your CSU Chico email address

Password: your CSU Chico password (email, portal, etc)

Once these fields are completed, click "OK"

 

3. You will be asked to confirm that you would like to continue connecting. You can click "Show certificate details" for more information, or simply click the "Connect" button.

 

4. You should now be connected to Eduroam!
