How to connect to csuchico
These devices will connect to the csuchico network. Due to hardware and software requirements, they are not able to connect to the eduroam network:
- Game Consoles
- Smart TVs
- Media Streaming Devices
- Barcode Scanners
When joining, go to your available Networks, choose "csuchico", and it will detect these devices and automatically allow them on the network without configuration.
If you are experiencing issues, please see the Known Issues page regarding these types of devices.
NOTE: Google Chromecast, AppleTV, Amazon FireTV Stick, Roku, Alexa/Echo speakers, GoogleHome/Nest speakers, Smart light bulbs, and other devices that require direct client connectivity do not work on campus.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Disconnect and reconnect the device a few times.
- Sometimes, it may take several login/logout attempts for the network to properly classify the device.
- Try connecting, then restarting the device
- If this does not work please contact ITSS in MLIB142, via phone at or email at itss@csuchico.edu.
- Be prepared to supply the wireless MAC address; The MAC address (sometimes "WiFi Address") can usually be found in the Advanced section of Network Settings
- If you are still unsure how to find it, a quick Google search for the specific device type usually has step-by-step instructions.
