There are several options to get quick access to files and folders that are frequently used in Box.
Favorite the File or Folder in Box
Box allows you to mark files and folders as "Favorites" in your Box account.
To favorite a file or folder:
- Click on the "More Options" button (the three dots) next to the file or folder you want to favorite
- Click on "Collections"
- Click on the box next to "Favorites" to add a checkmark
To see your favorites, click on the "My Collections" button on the left side of the Box page in your browser, and then click on your "Favorites" folder.
Bookmark the File or Folder in Box
You can bookmark files and folders in Box. This way, you can put a link to a file (that exists in one folder) someplace else.
- Go to the file or folder you want to create a bookmark for
- Click on the Share button and copy the link to the file or folder
- Go into the folder where you want the bookmark to appear and click on "New" and then select "Bookmark"
- Paste in the URL and give the bookmark a name, and then click "Create"
- The bookmark will then appear in the folder

NOTE: Every browser works a bit differently with regard to creating bookmarks.
In Box, every file and folder has a unique URL that can be permanently bookmarked in your browser for easy access.
In Chrome:
- Navigate to the file or folder you want to bookmark in Box
- Click on the Customize Chrome button (upper right)
- Click on "Bookmarks"
- Click on "Bookmark this page..."
- Click on "Done"
Once bookmarked, file or folder your bookmarked will appear in your list of bookmarks:
In Firefox:
- Navigate to the file or folder you want to bookmark in Box
- Click on the "Bookmark this page" icon (the star) in the Firefox toolbar
Once you have bookmarked the file or folder, you can click on the "Open Application Menu" button, and then Bookmarks.
After you click Bookmarks, your bookmark should appear below.
