Setting up a Custom Domain on YourWeb

Overview

This article explains how to connect a custom domain purchased from a third-party provider to your YourWeb website, including how to configure DNS records and name servers.

Purchase a Domain

You will need to purchase a custom domain from a third-party registrar. Some recommended providers include:

Add Domain to Your YourWeb Account

  1. Log in to your YourWeb account.
  2. Navigate to the Domains tab in cPanel.
  3. Click Domains to manage your domain settings.
  4. In the Domains settings, click Create a New Domain.
  5. Enter the domain name you purchased.
  6. Click Submit to save your changes.

Update DNS Settings with Your Domain Provider

  1. Log in to your domain registrar’s DNS Manager.
  2. Remove all default DNS records listed.
  3. Create a new A Record with the following values:
    • Hostname: www
    • IPv4 Address: (Use your YourWeb shared IP address from the Dashboard)
    • TTL: 7207
  4. Update Name Servers to point to YourWeb:
    • NameServer 1: ns1.reclaimhosting.com
    • NameServer 2: ns2.reclaimhosting.com
  5. Save all changes.

Note: It can take up to 24 hours for your domain to point to your YourWeb site.
