How to setup a custom domain on a YourWeb account

1. Purchase a custom domain from a third-party provider.

Here are some options:

2. Add the domain to your YourWeb account.

Enter your YourWeb account under the Domains tab enter "Domains"

Within the Domains settings create a new domain and enter the purchased domain and continue by submitting your entry.

3. Go back to the domain service provider to edit the DNS settings.

Enter the DNS Manager to update the DNS records.

Remove all default records.

Create an A Record.

Under HOSTNAME  add "www" and under IPV4 ADDRESS add your YourWeb IP address under TTL add 7207 (You'll find your shared IP address in the YourWeb Dashboard user General Information)

Save changes.

Now change the name server to point to YourWeb's name server within the DNS manager settings

  • NameServer 1: ns1.reclaimhosting.com
  • NameServer 2: ns2.reclaimhosting.com

Save changes.

It can take up to 24 hours for your purchased domain to start pointing to your YourWeb site.
