6 - Month Site Review

Template Stakeholder Email

This review will occur twice a year to ensure sites remain up-to-date, are accessible and continue to reflect the University's visual brand and use standards.

At the time of review, Web Services will provide a Quality Assurance (QA) excel sheet to aid the review process.

Review Your Content

Details To Keep In Mind

When performing the site review, please keep in mind the following questions: Who is the primary audience for this page? What action do I hope to inspire my audience to take?

In addition to these questions, Content Contributors should review their site content to ensure visitors to our Chico State web environment will:

  • know where they are through a consistent visual experience;
  • be able to navigate to University information and services quickly, easily, and without barriers;
  • know what to expect from their interactions across the campus web;
  • find accurate, up-to-date content that adds value and meets their needs;
  • have an inclusive and accessible experience; and
  • be able to trust that their data will be handled securely.

Content Contributors are encouraged to review the University's web governance policy and strategy once a year.

Filling Out Your QA Sheet

It is highly encouraged to work with your fellow Content Contributors and college/department stakeholders when completing this process.

Your site's QA sheet will include all active URLs of your site, check boxes for links and content, and an additional section for notes if you wish to utilize it. Our recommended process is:

  1. Connect with your fellow Content Contributors to divide the work.
  2. Open each URL and check that all links are active and the link label correctly identifies the action the user will take when opening the link.
  3.  Review the text contents and images of the page.
    • Does the content have correct grammar and punctuation?
    • Is your content evergreen (relevant, accurate, and requires minimal updates to maintain its value)?
    • Are all past dates and events removed from the page? This error is more common with scholarship and events pages.
  4.  If you cannot validate certain pieces of content, connect with a stakeholder in your department to double-check the page.
