Students can submit files directly from their Microsoft OneDrive to Canvas assignments. Since all students have free access to the Microsoft Office suite, including 1TB of storage in OneDrive, this makes it convenient to store and manage your work in the cloud and submit it seamlessly in Canvas. This guide will explain how to submit an assignment in Canvas using a file from your OneDrive account.
Prerequisites
- Access to a Canvas course with an active assignment
- A Microsoft OneDrive account (included with your campus Office 365 subscription)
- A file stored in your OneDrive account that you intend to submit
Step-by-Step Instructions
To submit an assignment using a OneDrive file, do the following:
- In your Canvas course, navigate to the assignment you want to submit.
- In the assignment submission area, select the OneDrive tab from the available options.
- A window will open asking you to log into your OneDrive account (if you’re not already signed in). Enter your campus email address and password.
- After logging in, browse your OneDrive and pick the file you want to submit.
- Select Attach to upload the file.
- Confirm your submission by selecting Submit Assignment.
Now your OneDrive file has been submitted for the assignment.
