Windows Virtual Desktop: Changing Default Options

  1. Open up "Remote Desktop" and log in using the "Subscription" button.
  2. Right-click on the virtual desktop you wish to change your settings for, in this example, I will be using the "Wildcat Lab." Upon right-clicking on the virtual desktop, select "Settings." This will pull up a sidebar menu to change the default options.

  3. Unselect "Use default settings." This will allow you to change some settings at your discretion.
  4. Here is a brief description of the settings:
    • Display Configuration will choose how many displays that virtual desktop will take up.
      • Single display when the windowed option will change the virtual desktop to only take up a single display while it is not in full-screen mode.
      • Fit session to window ensures that the virtual desktop will be fit to the window which it is in.
    • If you need a better description of the settings click the "Need help with settings?" this will take you to a Microsoft page that describes each setting in more detail.
