Avaya Workplace - Windows Install

Avaya IX Workplace is a Software Phone (Softphone) that allows users to enjoy the functionality of a desk phone from their computer or mobile device. Users can make and receive calls, interact with voicemail, transfer calls, and participate in conference calls wherever they are, without need for a traditional desk phone.

Before attempting to install, verify that the software is not already installed. Type "Workplace" in the search bar in the bottom left of your taskbar. If Avaya Workplace appears, press Enter to start the software, then skip down to the Configuration section.

Please check with your department coordinator and review campus communications to be sure that your extension and account are ready for use with Avaya IX Workplace prior to installation.

Installation

How to search for the software center on your computer

Open the Software Center on your computer by searching Software Center in the search box on the bottom left corner of your computer's taskbar.

Access the Software Center and then choose the Applications tab. The software needed for this installation is Avaya IX Workplace. Double-click on the Avaya IX Workplace icon shown.

The details page for the Avaya IX Workplace shows information about the application to be installed, along with an approximate wait time to completion. Because the installer checks the configuration of your computer, download and installation may take several minutes to complete. Please be patient during this process. Download and installation times depend on many factors, including your internet speed and computer configuration. Click install, and wait for the download to complete.

Note: You will know that the software has been installed when the Install button in Software Center changes to read as Uninstall. An installer for this software will not auto-run or pop up.

If the software is already installed, it relocates in Software Center from the Software section to the Installation Status section.

Press the Windows button on your computer and locate the Avaya IX Workplace icon. Please note that the icon in the Windows menu and on your desktop (if applicable) will read “Avaya Workplace.”
