Chico State has a web-based portal system for students, faculty, and staff. The Chico State Portal provides access to a host of online services, including:
- Student Center (for registration, financial aid, fee payment, etc.)
- Chico State Email
- Canvas and CSULearn (for trainings and classes)
- Campus Announcements and Chico State Alerts
Account Activation
New and transfer students will be asked for their Chico State ID and date of birth to claim their account. Your Chico State ID can be found in your acceptance packet from the Admissions Office, as well as in other correspondence from Financial Aid and/or the Student Records & Registration Office.
Note: If you have applied to Chico State or have been a Chico State student in the past, you may get a "This account has already been claimed" message. If you see this, you will need to follow the Forgot Password process instead of claiming the account.
Password Changes & Security Questions
If you know your username and current password, you can change your password via Account Center. Sign in to Account Center, then select the "My Password" tab at the top of the screen.
If you have forgotten your password or if your password has expired, you will need to click the Forgot Password button and follow the Forgot Password process.
In Account Center, you can also reset or change your Security Questions. These are Case Sensitive so if you do not enter the responses exactly how you have set them, it could lock your account.
Locating Your Chico State ID Number
Employees
Your Chico State ID number is also found in the lower-left corner on the front of your Wildcat ID Card. If you do not have your card, contact your department’s AAS, ASC, or ASA to retrieve your ID number.
Current and former students
Your Chico State ID number is also found in the lower-left corner on the front of your Wildcat ID Card. If you do not have your card, contact the Office of the Registrar at 530-898-5142. They will verify your identity and provide your ID number.
If you cannot find it in any of these places, you can call the Office of the Registrar at 530-898-5142.
