SENTRY Gatekeeper
SENTRY Gatekeeper is an e911 software used in conjunction with the Avaya Workplace softphone client and Microsoft Teams Calling. Remote workers can enable the address they are physically at which enables their work extension to act as their home 911 or emergency response address.
This software applies to University issued & managed Windows and Mac computers that are already configured to work with Avaya Workplace or Microsoft Teams. If you are not currently using this software, please contact ITSS to inquire about switching over to Avaya Workplace.
Installation & Configuration:
1. Find "Software Center" application on your Windows computer or "Self Service" on your Mac and search for "Sentry Gatekeeper." Once located select "Install".
2. After Gatekeeper opens, this Security Alert window will pop up. If you are the Admin on your device, click “Allow Access” and enter the credentials for your device. If you are not the Admin, just click “Cancel”.
3. Select “Sign in with Azure AD credentials”.
4. Sign in with your Chico State credentials.
5. After logging in, this Registration window should pop up with your information populated, except for the “ELIN”. In this box, enter your 11-digit Chico State phone number and extension, starting with a “1”, followed by the area code (530).
6. Once you’re registered, you need to set your address. Select “Find Me on Map” and a map of your location should open. If the address that populates is not correct, select “Edit” to enter the right address and select an icon to represent the address, such as Home.
Once you’ve entered the right address, select “Validate”.
After it validates, select “Save”.
7. Now you should see your correct address in your list. Click the checkmark next to the address to “Set” this as the address you are currently at. The box should turn completely green to show which address is set.
Enter multiple addresses if there are different locations you will be working from by clicking the + icon in the lower left corner.
Once you change locations, click the checkmark again to set a different location, or select the “Edit” icon to edit these addresses.
