Game Consoles/TVs/Media Streaming Devices Wireless Setup

Connecting to csuchico with Game Consoles/TVs/Media Streaming  devices

  • Smart TVs
  • Media Streaming Devices
  • Barcode Scanners

These devices will connect to the csuchico network.  The network will detect these devices and automatically allow them on the network without configuration. 

Due to hardware and software requirements, they are not able to connect to the eduroam network.

Please see the Known Issues page regarding these types of devices.

*Note Chromecasts and other devices that require direct client connectivity may not work on campus.

Troubleshooting Steps

  • Disconnect and reconnect the device a few times.
    • Sometimes, it may take a few attempts for the network to properly classify the device.
    • Sometimes, it may require connectivity to the csuchico-guest network and back to the csuchico network.  (Please remove the csuchico-guest network from the known networks list after)
  • If this does not work please contact ITSS in MLIB 142, via phone (530)898-4357 or email itss@csuchico.edu.
    • Be prepared to supply the wireless mac address; ITSS can assist if unsure of location.
