Account lifecycle and access after graduation

How long will my accounts remain active?

After 2 years of no active enrollment, the following accounts are disabled (you cannot log in, but data still exists):

  • Microsoft 365 (email and OneDrive)
  • Google Workspace
  • Canvas

After 3 years, accounts are permanently deleted.

This applies unless you have another active affiliation with the university.

What access do I keep?

You will continue to use your campus username and password to access the Chico State Portal and Student Center, including requesting transcripts and viewing financial information (e.g., 1098-T Tax Form).

What if I am planning to take more classes?

If you take a semester or year off, you may receive a message about accounts being deprovisioned. As long as you continue your courses within the two-year grace period, your accounts will not be affected.

What if I am an employee?

If you are an employee, or become an employee within the two-year grace period, your accounts will not be affected. It is only when you fully separate that your accounts will change.

Where can I get more information?

How can I keep access to my Chico State accounts after separating?

There is no option to retain Chico State accounts after separation.

Save your data

Before your account is permanently deleted, download or transfer any data you want to keep.
