DoIT Project Portfolio Report

Overview

The Project and Change Management Office (PCMO) has developed a DoIT Project Portfolio Report to enhance transparency and provide campus stakeholders with a clear view of the status of IT projects. This report offers insights into projects from the initial request phase through to final closure.

Purpose

The DoIT Project Portfolio Report is designed to give campus stakeholders timely and accurate updates on IT project requests and project progress. By consolidating project data into a single, easy-to-use platform, stakeholders can readily visualize project timelines, status, and priorities.

Data Source and Platform

The report pulls data directly from TeamDynamix, the IT project management platform used by Chico State. This data is then visualized in a Power BI report app, making it easy to interpret and analyze.

Refresh Schedule

To ensure information is up to date, the Project Portfolio Report is refreshed five times daily at the following intervals:

  • 8:00 am
  • 10:00 am
  • 12:00 pm
  • 2:00 pm
  • 4:00 pm
  • 6:00 pm

*Note that project statuses are updated at least once a week and are generally due on Fridays by 11:00 am, though updates can happen more frequently. 

Accessing the Report

The DoIT Project Portfolio Report can be accessed through the Microsoft Power BI application in the Microsoft O365 environment. Go to https://apps.powerbi.com and log in with your Chico State email and Credentials. Once in the Power BI application, you can navigate to the Apps icon on the left-side navigation. The DoIT Project Portfolio Reporting app should be visible to Chico State users. Select the app, and it will take you to the Power BI Report.
