PeopleSoft Error: "User ID and/or Password are Invalid"

Error Information

Some users may encounter the following error when attempting to log into PeopleSoft or Student Center: "Your User ID and/or Password are invalid." 

Unfortunately, this error can be misleading - there is typically not an error with your User ID and/or Password at all. Most users should not see this screen at all.

Fixing the Error

You can try a couple of troubleshooting steps to determine if this is a cache issue or a profile problem.

  1. Check the Chico State Status Dashboard to ensure there is not a current outage.
  2. Try closing the tab, log into the Chico State Portal, and reopen the tab.
    • This could determine if there was an issue with Single Sign-On (SSO).
  3. Open the page in an Incognito or Private window.
  4. If neither of the above works, your User Profile in PeopleSoft could be locked.
