General Naming Standards

Use the following standards when creating records in Slate:

  • The only approved special character is the hyphen (-).
  • Use capital letters to separate words within names (for example: ChicoPreviewDay).
  • Follow the naming format for the appropriate record type to maintain consistency across the system.

General Records

Format:

DepartmentCode NameOfRecord SemesterYear

Example:

ADMS ApplicantReport Fall17

Organization Events

Format:

DepartmentCode EventName

Example:

ADMS CampusTour

Recurring Events

Format:

DepartmentCode EventName

Example:

ADMS CampusTour

Communication Campaigns and Templates

Format:

DepartmentCode CommunicationType CommunicationAudience SemesterYear
