Requesting Access

**If you have already received an email stating you had access, or if your professor requested access for you, you can skip this step.** 

Students needing to access MS Project need to first fill out a Software Request form. Please do so by clicking the link here: https://support.csuchico.edu/TDClient/1984/Portal/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=8035

Click "Request Service" on the right side. In the subject line, say "Microsoft Project for Student" or similar. 

In the description field, please include:

  • Full class name (ex: 218-CAGD110-01-6767)
  • Professor's name 

Once the request is submitted, keep an eye on your Chico State email for follow-up instructions. Once received, use the instructions below to access Microsoft Project.

PC Remote Desktop Client

If you are on a Windows machine, you can download a client to run the Wildcat Lab session instead of running it in a web browser. The download is available here. You will be asked if you want to install for just yourself, or for everyone. If you choose to install it for everyone, you will need to be an Administrator on that machine.

  • Once the remote Desktop App is installed, open the app and click the "Subscribe" button.
  • This will prompt you to sign in with your Chico State account. Please make sure to subscribe with username@csuchico.edu.
  • Once logged in, you should see a list of computers that you can access. Click on one, and it will bring up a new sign-in window. Simply enter your Chico State username and password here (no @csuchico.edu) and you will be signed into the lab machine.

Mac Remote Desktop Client

If you are on an Apple/Mac machine, you can download a client to run the Wildcat Lab session instead of running it in a web browser. The download is available here. You will be asked if you want to install for just yourself, or everyone. If you choose to install it for everyone, you will need to be an Administrator on that machine.

  • Once the remote Desktop App is installed, open the app and click the "Connections" tab
  • Next, click "Add Workspace." It should then prompt you to insert an email or workspace URL. Enter the following URL and click "Add"

  • When prompted, log in with the @csuchico.edu Microsoft Account
  • Before you access the Project app, click on Microsoft Remote Desktop (In your menu bar, top left), and go to Preferences/Settings. Select file redirection, and change the drop-down from "none" to "use folder".  Select your desktop and click Choose
  • Now you can find the Project App under General Workstation
