Canvas Credentials is a digital badging solution that allows educators to issue credentials to students online. It offers features like credential stacking, analytics tracking, and gamification to recognize student achievements and make implementing a full-scale badging program more easily. Available only for Professional and Continuing Education.
Prerequisites
Before requesting access, you should:
- Be affiliated with a Chico State program or department.
- Have a plan for how and why you will issue digital badges.
- Be prepared to purchase additional licenses for your area if not part of the PCE.
Step-by-Step Instructions
To request access to issue badges through Canvas Credentials, open a request with Learning Technology Services and provide the following information:
- Department/Organization you are representing
- Badge Purpose
- Target Audience
- Badge Types (e.g., participation, skill-based, course completion)
- Estimated badges to be issued per academic year
- Whether your badge program requires Canvas LMS integration.
- Whether you have a badge design or need assistance designing one (PCE Badge Examples)
