Microsoft Teams: Scheduling Messages

If you need to send a chat message but the moment isn't ideal, you can arrange for its delivery at a more appropriate time and date. This practice honors the diversity of schedules and time zones in collaborative environments. By scheduling your message, you guarantee its transmission at your chosen time.

Note: The walk-through below is done on the Teams Desktop App on a Windows / PC computer. The interface may differ slightly if you do this on a different device type.

Scheduling a Message

  1. Compose a message in the text box, then right-click on the "Send" icon.
  2. Choose the date and time you'd like the message to be sent from the pop-up menu. These are scheduled at half-hour increments if you use the drop-down menu.
  3. After selecting the date and time, click "Send". Your message will be automatically delivered at the time you choose.
