Question
I noticed that after the new website was launched, one of the pages is missing information that was on the old site. Is there a way I can view the old website so I can point out which information is missing?
Answer
Yes, there are two ways to view old web pages.
1. Library Archives
https://archive-it.org/collections/10525
A more long-term solution is the archives provided by the Meriam Library. These archives will exist for the foreseeable future and are a great place to look when trying to track down a version of a web page that existed in the past.
For best results, use this format when performing a search within the Library Archive:
www.csuchico.edu/art
- Do not include the 'https://' as part of your search query.
2. Unpublished Cascade Websites
Old websites are not deleted from Cascade until approximately 6 months after the launch of a new site. That means anyone with access can view the website in Cascade. If you were a Cascade site maintainer in the past, you can still log into Cascade and view your old website within that window of time.
- Right-click a Cascade page and select 'Versions' to see when it was last updated.
