QA Review Process

Website Quality Assurance (QA) reviews occur twice each year to ensure websites remain accurate, accessible, and aligned with Chico State branding and web standards.

Web Services will provide a QA spreadsheet to support the review process.

Complete Your QA Sheet

Content Contributors are encouraged to collaborate with fellow Content Contributors and department stakeholders throughout the review process.

Your QA sheet will include:

  • Active URLs for your site
  • Review the checkboxes for links and content
  • A notes section for comments or follow-up items
  • Required and supplemental review sections

The required section includes the site’s most visited pages and must be completed within two weeks. Supplemental pages are optional but recommended.

Recommended Review Process

  1. Coordinate with other Content Contributors to divide the review work.
  2. Open each URL and verify:
    • Links are active
    • Link text clearly describes the destination or action
  3. Review page text and images for accuracy and quality.
    • Check grammar and punctuation
    • Confirm content is current and evergreen
    • Remove outdated events or past dates
  4. Consult department stakeholders if content requires additional verification.

Content Review Standards

As you review content, consider the following questions:

  • Who is the primary audience for this page?
  • What action should the page encourage users to take?

Website content should help visitors:

  • Understand where they are through a consistent visual experience
  • Access information and services quickly and easily
  • Know what to expect across the campus web environment
  • Find accurate and valuable content
  • Have an accessible and inclusive experience
  • Trust that their information is handled securely

Content Contributors are encouraged to review the university’s Web Governance Policy and Web Governance Strategy annually.

Stakeholder Communication Template

Use the following message when requesting content verification from department stakeholders.

Hi,

We are currently reviewing the [Website Name/Section] content to ensure everything remains accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with the site strategy.

There are some pages that require additional confirmation from your team. Please review the webpage and let us know if the information is correct or needs to be updated.

If updates are needed, send the revised text or schedule a quick meeting to review the changes.
