Block a Sender in Outlook on the Web

Follow these steps if you access your email through a web browser at Outlook on the web.

  1. Sign in to Outlook on the web.
  2. Locate an email from the sender you want to block.
  3. Right-click the email message.
  4. Select Block from the menu.
  5. Click Block sender.
  6. Confirm by selecting OK.

Messages from this sender will now be delivered to your Junk Email folder automatically.

Manage Blocked Senders in Outlook Settings (Web)

  1. Click the Settings (gear icon) in the upper-right corner.
  2. Choose Mail, then select Junk email.
  3. Under Senders > Blocked senders and domains, select Add blocked sender.
  4. Enter the sender’s email address.
  5. Select OK.
  6. Click Save.

Block a Sender in Outlook (classic)

Follow these steps if you use the Outlook (classic) application installed on your computer.

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Select an email from the sender you want to block.
  3. Right-click the message.
  4. Select Junk.
  5. Choose Block Sender.
  6. Select OK to confirm.

Future messages from this sender will be sent directly to your Junk Email folder.

Manage Blocked Senders in Outlook (classic)

  1. Select the Home tab in Outlook.
  2. Select Junk, then choose Junk E-mail Options.
  3. Open the Blocked Senders tab.
  4. From here, you can add or remove email addresses as needed.
