As a student, you can book appointments with your instructor using the Zoom integration within Canvas. These appointments allow you to schedule meetings for office hours, one-on-one discussions, or other sessions your instructor has made available. Unlike Canvas appointments, Zoom appointments do not appear on the Canvas calendar, but they will show up under the Upcoming Meetings tab in the Zoom integration. You will also receive an email confirmation once your booking is confirmed.
This guide will show you how to book, view, and cancel your appointments through the Zoom integration in Canvas.
Prerequisites
- You must be enrolled in a Canvas course that uses the Zoom integration.
- Your instructor must have set up appointment slots through Zoom in the Canvas course.
Step-by-Step Instructions

- From the course menu, select Zoom.

View or Cancel an Appointment
If you need to view or cancel your appointment, follow these steps:
- Log into Canvas and go to the course where you booked the appointment.
- Select Zoom from the course menu.
- Navigate to the Appointments tab.
- Under the Upcoming Meetings section, find the appointment you want to manage.
- To cancel the appointment, select Cancel next to the booking.
Canceling an appointment will send a cancellation notification to both you and your instructor via email.
Troubleshooting
- Appointments not showing on Canvas Calendar: Zoom appointments do not appear on the Canvas calendar. Always check the Upcoming Meetings tab in the Zoom integration for your scheduled appointments.
- Can't find available time slots: If no time slots are available, your instructor may not have set up appointments yet, or they may have already been booked by other students. Contact your instructor for more information.
