Installing/Removing Clearpass OnGuard on Mac OS

If Clearpass Onguard has a Red symbol you may need anti-virus software. Avira is recommended.

Installing Clearpass Onguard 

1. Download the Clearpass OnGuard client for Mac: ClearPassOnGuardInstall.dmg
2. Double click on the .dmg file and open it up.
3. Then double click on the ClearPassOnGuard.pkg icon.

If an error message comes up saying the file is corrupted or can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer, please follow these steps.

4. When the installer opens, click Continue.

5. After clicking Continue, you'll see the end user license agreement. Read it and if you accept, click Continue.

6. If you are prompted for your computers username and password, enter your credentials and then click Install Software

7. After the installation completes, a window will pop up letting you know that the installation has finished. Click Close.Completed Installation of Clearpass Onguard.

After installation has completed ClearPass OnGuard will prompt for your credentials. Enter your Username and Password and click OK.

VPN USERS ONLY: **Clearpass Onguard will NOT connect or prompt for password until after the VPN is connected.***

 

 

Removing Clearpass Onguard

1. Open the "Finder" from the launch bar.

2. Open the "Application" folder and expand the "Aruba Networks folder and run the "Uninstaller".

3. Follow the directions to complete the removal of Clearpass Onguard.

Troubleshooting/Known Issues Clearpass Onguard

Unable to open due corrupt file or unidentified developer

1. Open the System Preferences.

2. Open the Security & Privacy settings.

3. In the General Tab, unlock the settings.

4. Enter Username and Password.

5. Select "App Store and identified developers" OR "Anywhere" if present.

6. Reopen the file having issues.

  2. A list of supported antivirus software can be found here.
  3. Confirm Updates are turned on properly.
  4. Confirm Clearpass Onguard is running version 6.6.2.
    • Select the Clearpass Onguard tray icon and select "About Clearpass Onguard"
